Hyundai Auto Link Premium™^[H7]

Links your Tucson Highlander’s computer to your Apple or Android smartphone. Includes all the features of the Hyundai Auto Link app, plus Remote Engine Start, remote access to doors and air-con, and it will even send emergency messages in an accident.

The twin-panel, panoramic glass roof brings all the joys of open air driving – without the need for hats and scarves. At the touch of a button, the front panel opens – and activates a wind deflector that does just that.

8-speed automatic transmission.

Available exclusively on the R Series 2.0 Diesel, the in-house developed 8-speed automatic transmission offers enhanced shift logic, is faster, more responsive, and has smoother gear shifts. The 8-speed automatic also enables more potent acceleration from stand still with improved NVH characteristics, more decisive acceleration at high speeds and greater fuel efficiency.

Convenience for all.

Located in the lower part of the rear the centre console, the addition of a USB charging port will provide added convenience to rear seat occupants, allowing them to stay connected to their electronic devices without having to worry about battery life.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW).

At speeds above 60km/h and below 180km/h, Driver Attention Warning (DAW) uses the windshield mounted camera to continually monitor the vehicle’s position within the lane, whilst also tracking steering inputs, brake pedal inputs, as well as time since last break. Should the system detect careless driving (such as sudden steering/braking inputs and/or inability to keep within lane), the ‘Attention Level’ display on the cluster will continually decrease. Should the level decrease to a certain threshold, the DAW system will recommend that the driver take a break.

Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW).

At speeds of 30 km/h or above, Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind Tucson. If a vehicle is present in Tucson’s blind spot, BCW displays a visual alert in the exterior mirrors. If the driver proceeds to activate the corresponding indicator lights, a flashing visual warning is provided and an audible alert is sounded.

The system also scans for vehicles approaching rapidly from the rear, and uses the same warning measures to alert the driver of vehicles which may be entering Tucson’s blind spot at a higher rate of speed.

The 8” touchscreen is integrated with satellite navigation, giving you directions on how to get to your next destination and also provides alerts about speed limits and speed/red light cameras within the area.

Tucson adopts LED headlamps casting a brighter illumination compared to conventional halogen lighting systems. The automatic levelling system reduces glare to oncoming drivers by compensating for vehicle load (i.e. passengers and cargo).

Speaker system.

Available on the Tucson Active X, Elite and Highlander variants is the 8-speaker Infinity premium audio system featuring two tweeters, four door speakers, a front centre speaker, subwoofer and external amplifier.

Electronic Park Brake (EPB).

An EPB allows for effortless operation of the parking brake. Additionally, the Auto Hold function incorporated into the braking system (Elite & Highlander) automatically holds the brakes steady once the vehicle has come to a complete stop, such that the vehicle will not creep forward or roll backward should the driver take their foot off the brake pedal.

Keep your hands on the wheel.

To help you keep your eyes on the road, ergonomically positioned steering wheel-mounted switches located near the thumb area allow you to control audio, Bluetooth® and cruise control functions.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with camera.

When the car ahead is too close for comfort, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist utilises the windshield mounted camera to detect the proximity. It can also pick up pedestrians and cyclists that are travelling in front and will automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes in the case of a potential collision.

Available on the Active (auto transmission only), Active X (auto transmission only) variants.

Smart Cruise Control (SCC).

Smart Cruise Control (SCC) maintains the pre-set speed of your vehicle while also detecting the speed of vehicles ahead, maintaining a safe distance by braking and accelerating back up to the pre-set speed. It also works in stop-start traffic and can automatically bring the car to a stop and accelerate as needed.

Available on the Elite & Highlander variants.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) system.

A steering assist function that detects lane markings to monitor the vehicle’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without activating the indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, will provide steering intervention to keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane.

Available on the Active, Active X, Elite & Highlander variants.

Smart Cruise Control (SCC).

Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go detects the speed and distance of vehicles ahead of the Tucson. SCC maintains a safe distance to the vehicle ahead, up to a pre-set speed (between 30km/h – 180km/h).
The Stop & Go function works in stop/start traffic, bringing the vehicle to a stop when appropriate, and automatically (if within 3 seconds) accelerate back up to the original set speed. If the vehicle is stationary for over 3 seconds, SCC will prompt the driver to continue cruise conditions via the steering wheel switches.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW).

Using the Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system’s radar sensors, at speeds below 10 km/h, the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of Tucson when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces. Should RCCW detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster.

Driver Attention Warning (DAW).

At speeds above 60km/h and below 180km/h, Driver Attention Warning (DAW) uses the windshield mounted camera to continually monitor the vehicle’s position within the lane, whilst also tracking steering inputs, brake pedal inputs, as well as time since last break. When it’s too close for comfort.

The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system, when active, utilises the front radar sensor and windshield mounted camera to detect and monitor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in front of the vehicle. If a potential collision is detected, the system’s Forward Collision Warning (FCW) function will sound an audible warning chime and display a visual warning in the Supervision cluster. FCW is active above speeds of 8km/h, up to speeds of 70km/h for pedestrians and up to speeds of 180km/h for vehicles.

Additionally, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) works in conjunction with FCW to automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes in the case of a potential collision (where no driver intervention is detected after a FCW system warning). FCA is active above speeds of approximately 8km/h, and will attempt to bring the vehicle to a partial or complete stop if activated up to speeds of 70 km/h for pedestrians and complete stop up to speeds of 80 km/h for vehicles. Between speeds of 81 – 180 km/h when activated, for vehicles, FCA will slow down the Tucson in order to reduce the severity of the collision. In all scenarios of operation (visual and audible warning, slowing down or bringing vehicle to complete stop), pedestrian detection will only occur if the pedestrian is moving at speeds below 10 km/h.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) system.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) System consists of two switchable functions – Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Active LKA.
At speeds of 60 km/h or above, LDW uses the windshield mounted camera to detect lane markings and monitor the vehicle’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded.
Active LKA is operational at speeds of 60km/h or above where lane markings on both sides of the vehicle are detected. The function helps prevent the vehicle from straying from the lane and provides steering intervention as the vehicle is about to leave the lane. Where required LKA provides earlier steering intervention in order to assist the vehicle in staying in the centre of the lane.
Both LDW and Active LKA are momentarily deactivated whenever turn signals are active. Additionally, the driver must maintain control of the vehicle by holding the steering wheel.

High Beam Assist (HBA).

Using the same windshield mounted camera as the LKA system, High Beam Assist (HBA) scans the road ahead of Tucson, monitoring for street lights as well as any other lights, including headlights of oncoming vehicles as well as taillights of vehicles in front. Upon detection the system automatically adjusts headlamp range, switching between high and low beam.
HBA is active at speeds of 41km/h or above, and operational once the light switch, on the indicator lever, is placed in the AUTO position and the lever pushed forward away from the driver.

The rear-view camera activates when engaged in ‘reverse’ so you can see where you’re going and what’s behind you on the touchscreen. The dynamic guidelines help to keep you on track, resulting in perfect parking every time.
